Fire up the nutrition table by clicking the link on the previous page: don't try to copy the information on this page into your local Excel, because the formulae won't come across, what you see here being merely Active-X controls for web design purposes rather than fully-functional spreadsheets.

Let's suppose you want some porridge for your Day 2 breakfast (you don't do breakfast on day 1 so, by the time you come to make this entry, you will already have entered the day 1 supper details). In this example, I shall show everything added in green, but you can use black, of course.

Enter Breakfast (2) in H12

Highlight A11 to E11 and press Ctrl-C

Let's suppose that you like porridge, and would like a double portion. Work out in your head that you need 60 g, and enter that into N12. There's no need to enter anything into O12, because you buy porridge by the boxload rather than by the portion.

You'll notice that the spreadsheet has calculated the total energy to be derived from 60 g porridge.

Now let's suppose you'd like a rasher of bacon as well. Do the same procedure, but this time you can put 1 rasher in column O if you like.

When you get to the end of breakfast, you enter

=SUM(P12:P13) (or whatever your range is)

into Q13. Then miss a line and start on the next meal. If you intend to have the same breakfast each day, then you can copy and paste. The idea is to have the various meals one below the other, in order, in readiness for the final procedure.
